What inspired you to give Caffeine Bullet a try? Why did you feel like you needed a caffeine boost?
I used to use caffeine gels and drinks. The problem I had is that it tied the caffeine to carb or liquid consumption which wasn't ideal for me. Caffeine Bullet appeared as an ideal solution to my problem.
How did you find the taste and ease of use of our products? What do you typically use them for and why do you prefer them to alternative products?
The taste of the Caffeine Bullets and Ginger Roars is great, there's enough flavour without it being overpowering. I especially like the Ginger Roars, you can almost have it dissolve in your mouth before swallowing. I use Caffeine Bullets and Ginger Roars as a pick-me-up in the a later stages of a long session or race. Ginger Roars are also great to have before early morning runs to get me going.
I like to run before work, and to avoid the traffic I’ll commute to work and run round the local towpaths. Training time is valuable, so to maximise the hour I like to have a bullet around 20 minutes before I start.
I put in a lot of hours and miles each week, so keeping on top of my nutrition is critical. However, there are times when I overreach. For that reason, I keep a couple of Caffeine Bullets and Ginger Roars in my waist pack along with a gel and bar. The small packet is great for keeping them dry and fresh.
How has Caffeine Bullet played a part in your journey to smash your personal bests?
On my previous 24hr runs, caffeine use was ad-hoc, on both occasions I felt that this could have been improved. So, for my last event I planned to start taking Caffeine Bullets at 13 hours into the run, which coincided with my normal bedtime (11pm).
In addition to the stimulus from the caffeine, I used the Bullets to help split the race into hour blocks. I was taking on a lot of sweet drinks and chews, so the Chocolate Orange Bullet and Ginger Roar was something different to look forward to each block. I took my first Bullet just before 13 hours into the race.
I alternated between Chocolate Orange Caffeine Bullets and Ginger Roars every 30 minutes through the night, stopping around 6am. I had my final bullet with 90minutes left to race. Throughout the event I consumed 8 Chocolate Orange Bullets and 8 Ginger Roars. My previous PB for 24hr was 235.75km, It's now the GB Men's record of 281.303km, surpassing Robbie Britton's 2022 distance by 3.8km
For those considering trying Caffeine Bullet, what advice would you share?
Try all the flavours and don't leave it too late before you start taking them during your race. I've not found another product on the market that delivers caffeine with such ease. With the added bonus that they all taste great too.
